We maintain a comprehensive Privacy and Information Security Program intended to safeguard the security, confidentiality and integrity of your personal information.

    Our Security Program includes :

    • Implementing technology to help protect information systems and personal information
    • Testing the security of online customer applications
    • Monitoring system infrastructures for intrusions and vulnerabilities
    • Restricting access of personal information to employees with specific business needs and providing relevant training on security best practices
    • Selecting service providers that have demonstrated that they are capable of protecting personal information in accordance with MassMutual policies and standards and in accordance  with applicable legal and regulatory requirements and requiring them by contractual agreement to maintain such standards
    • Reviewing, assessing and updating our security practices based on changes in technology, sensitivity of customer information, and changing nature of threats and vulnerabilities
    • Maintaining policies and procedures that are reasonably designed to protect against any anticipated threats or hazards to the confidentiality, security, or integrity of personal information
    • Participating in industry sharing forums to identify trends and potential threats regarding the security of personal information
    • Participating in industry sharing forums, such as the Financial Services Information Sharing and Analysis Center (FS-ISAC) to identify trends and potential threats regarding the security of systems and data including personal information

    While MassMutual is committed to protecting your information in our systems, you also play an important role in ensuring that your information remains secure.

    Here are a few best practices to follow:

    • Install antivirus and anti-spyware software on your computer
    • Update your software when updates become available to ensure you’re set up to address software vulnerabilities that phishing scams and viruses exploit
    • Install a firewall, which acts as a a gate between your computer and the Internet, to limit access to your computer while blocking communications from unauthorized sources
    • Never click on a link or open an attachment in an unsolicited email or source of communication
