Your initial consultation is complimentary. There are different cost structures associated with having a long-term relationship with a financial professional. You may be charged an annual fee based on your invested balance, or your financial professional may earn a commission on products sold to you. Your financial professional will be happy to explain compensation at your initial meeting.

Every financial professional brings their own perspective and approach. It’s important to find a financial professional who specializes in your areas of focus and whose style aligns with your own. Consider asking questions such as:

• Why did you decide to become a financial professional?
• What are your areas of expertise?
• How are you compensated?
• How often do you meet with your clients?

Before your first meeting, it helps to have a clear idea of where you want to focus.
