Jim Loughery began his career in the financial services industry in 1953. He started with Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance Company, which merged with Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company, and he remains as agent emeritus. “Retirement has no appeal,” he says. A life member of the Million Dollar Round Table, Jim concentrates his services on estate planning, tax reduction strategies, business life insurance, employee benefits, and executive compensation planning.
Jim, who served in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII, has a dedication to the community that is inspiring. He is past president of the Estate Planning Council of Indianapolis and served as an officer and trustee of Indianapolis Association of Life Underwriters and the Indianapolis Chapter of CLU. Jim was board president of St. Elizabeth Home and a board member of both the Indianapolis Athletic Club and Marquette Manor. He was a longtime scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 94 and committee member for Troop 174. Jim serves as a member for St. Vincent Hospital Ethics Committee, and holds the Third Degree of Knights of Columbus.
Jim, who attended Purdue University School of Engineering and graduated from Butler University, also is an alumnus and trustee of Cathedral High School. He is past president of the Serra Club, and Pope John Paul II named him a Knight of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem. Jim and his wife Mary Lou, active members of St. Luke Catholic Church, have seven children and thirteen grandchildren.
