General Agent Gary Sancilio collaborates closely with Nick Preddice, Co-General Agent, to oversee the growing sales organization.
Gary started his career in financial services in 1987, working for several financial service firms, including John Hancock and the financial planning firm AYCO. Early on in his career, Gary recognized the stark difference between focusing on the client relationship and selling a product. The experience gave him an appreciation for the importance of building lasting client relationships. Gary's unique personal coaching style, combined with a practical solutions-oriented approach to wealth management, led him to success.
In 2002, he and Nick Preddice partnered to launch The Affinity Group, LLC.
Gary's career path as a financial coach has always run parallel with an interest in law. Gary received his law degree from St. John's University of Law. He served as an Appellate Court Attorney with the New York Supreme Court Appellate Division, and as an Assistant District Attorney in New York City. Eventually, he relocated to the Albany area, and went into private practice. Though he no longer is a practicing attorney, he remains a member of the Trusts and Estates Section of the New York State Bar Association. He frequently speaks on financial planning to various groups, including financial advisors and the American Bar Association.
Gary's personal financial planning practice is concentrated in the areas of financial and estate analysis, wealth management and transfers, elder care planning, estate administration, estate and gift taxation, business and succession planning.
Serving as a board member, Gary is active in Make-A-Wish and has sponsored many events contributing to this organization’s efforts to grant wishes to children with life threatening conditions.
Gary and his family reside in Delmar, NY.
