SPRINGFIELD, MASS., Sept. 23, 2015Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (MassMutual) is being inducted into the Working Mother Hall of Fame after earning a place on the 100 Best Companies list for the 15th year.  Word of the Hall of Fame honor came as the company was recognized as one of the 2015 Working Mother 100 Best Companies by Working Mother magazine for outstanding leadership in establishing policies, programs and corporate culture that supports working moms, including child care, flexible work arrangements, paid parental leave and advancement of women.

In addition, MassMutual’s Patricia Fay, assistant vice president and actuary in the company’s Retirement Services division, will be honored as a Working Mother of the Year [hyperlink to profile] at Working Mother Media’s Gala Dinner on Oct. 15 and profiled in the October/November issue of Working Mother magazine.

“As Working Mother celebrates the 30th anniversary of its 100 Best Companies list, we are honored to be included among the prestigious group of employers who have been inducted into the Hall of Fame and to be counted among the vanguard of successful companies with policies that matter to American families,” said Deb Palermino, Executive Vice President of Human Resources at MassMutual.

“The MassMutual community is proud of the recognition that our women- and mother-friendly practices have consistently received from Working Mother, and we continue to add new and improved benefits and services to help our employees secure their future and protect the ones they love, such as the enhanced paid parental leave policy announced in June,” Palermino added.

“We are especially proud of Pat, who is a dedicated wife and mother of four, including her daughter Megan, who has Rhett’s syndrome, and a highly valued contributor to MassMutual and her community,” she concluded.

“Thirty years is an important milestone, and we are happy to honor it. But we know, too, that the road ahead to truly supportive workplaces for all employees remains long. Today more than 2 million people work at a Best Company, but our nation is home to 24 million working mothers,” said Jennifer Owens, editorial director of Working Mother Media.
