Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (MassMutual) has been made aware that certain individuals may have received checks with MassMutual’s name or logo on the check notifying them they are the winner of a “sweepstakes” and asking that they send money to a designated address.

Please be aware that this is part of a fraudulent mailing to which many companies and individuals have become victim. MASSMUTUAL IS NOT AFFILIATED IN ANY WAY WITH SUCH FRAUDULENT “SWEEPSTAKES” ACTIVITY. DO NOT SEND ANY MONEY.

The check has no cash value and, if deposited, will be rejected by our bank. MassMutual has contacted the US Postal Inspection Service to advise them of this matter. If you receive such a check or notification, you may wish to file a mail fraud complaint with your local postmaster or you can call MassMutual’s Treasury Bank Reconciliation at (413) 744-3330. Provide them with copies of information you received (we strongly suggest you write VOID on the face of the check) and MassMutual’s investigators will communicate with the postal inspectors.
