Creating a Career Pathway
MassMutual has a long history of supporting education initiatives. We support our education efforts through our Career Pathways Program, which helps raise awareness by providing information to students, parents and educators regarding careers at MassMutual and within the financial services industry. The program connects eligible students to MassMutual scholarships, skills training and development, mentoring, internships and opportunities for employment.
MassMutual Academic Achievement Program
Eligible high school students in Springfield, MA who have maintained a B or better average for four consecutive marking periods are recognized as MassMutual Academic Achievers. Achievers are eligible for incentives to help them continue their academic success, such as free access to the PSAT exam and to SAT Prep classes, workshops on college admissions, financial aid and career exploration. MassMutual Academic Achievers have access to our Career Pathways initiatives including programs such as the Junior Achievement Stock Market Challenge, Job Shadow Day and internships, as well as the MassMutual Scholars Program.
MassMutual Scholars Program
College-Bound High School Seniors
Students interested in careers in financial services may be eligible to apply for a MassMutual Scholarship. Applicants must be college-bound seniors from Hampden County, MA, or Hartford County, CT, and attend college in Massachusetts, Connecticut or other selected colleges. Scholarship recipients are also eligible to apply for internships at MassMutual that will provide them with hands-on experience in the financial services industry. Up to 40, $5,000 renewable scholarships are available.*

College Sophomores – Fifth-Year Seniors
MassMutual is focused on expanding access and opportunity of higher education and employment to citizens who reflect the rich cultural diversity of our nation. MassMutual seeks to increase the number of minority students completing college nationally and raise awareness of careers in financial services.
Students of African American, Hispanic, Asian and Pacific Islander decent whose intended majors are business, finance, management, marketing, sales, economics or financial planning are eligible to apply. These students must reside within the metropolitan areas of Atlanta, Chicago, Central New Jersey, Denver, Houston, Miami, Los Angeles, San Antonio or San Francisco. Twenty-seven scholarships will be available in 2010 totaling $135,000.
